SHOWDOWN
2026 Summer Showdown Aug 20th-23rd, at Wyndam Indianapolis West 2544 Executive Blvd 46241, Call direct 317-248-2481. NOTE: there is no pre-registration for Thursday or Sunday’s Luck Of The Draw events.  To register and pay with credit card, go to www.TheSummerShowdown.com. Paying by cash for Shaffer Dayton branch players only, register here (over on the far left). DO NOT register in both places. Paying your events by cash ($30 per player) includes your partner as well: Option (1): pay events at Dayton branch office 2600 Oneida Dayton 45414 Monday-Friday 8:00am-2:00pm; (2) in Springfield Tuesday July 21st at the Mug-N-Jug 5:31pm-7:21pm; (3) in Dayton area Thursday July 23rd at the Diplomat Lounge 5:31pm-7:21pm. ALL events MUST be paid in full by July 27th or you can register at the tournament at $40 per player.

2026-2027 FALL SEASON UPDATE
The 2026-2027 league rated players are now posted. These are an overall “average” of your league performance last season. Once again, we deleted almost 200 players where the captain typed in only first names. If you were listed on a team, in example Randy A ThurW7, sadly you were deleted with no league rating recorded. We also deleted some players we’ve not seen for awhile. We can still find you in the event life leads you back to us. We will provide an update for some new summer league players and take ratings into consideration for any X or G marked players towards the end of August. Players with an X (may indicate in-active status) or G (insufficient number of games to be rated) please review the Captain’s Guide on page #2: D. PLAYERS 4 & 5.  It’s about Darts & Having Fun!   And Thanks…..For Playing With US!

2026-2027 CAPTAIN’S GUIDEBOOK
The 2026-2027 Captain’s Guidebook will be updated in just a few days. No major changes, slight modifications to “no practicing” on another board once the match has begun to include throwing another league (aka Remote) or in tournaments, just to be clear. It is implied that teams will utilize these guidelines set forth to ensure league play go as smoothly as possible.  Many times, a situation arises it’s due to lack of understanding league policies or using a rule out of context from which it was written.  Knowledge of these procedures, common sense, and good sportsmanship will allow all of us to throw darts and have fun if the situation is explicitly un-answered within the guidelines. We play darts for the social aspects of the game.  Have fun and enjoy your league night.

If you missed your day, make arrangements ( randyc@shafferamusement.com ) to pick-up at our office 2600 Oneida Ave Dayton 45414 between 8:00am-3:00pm (flexible).  All 2025-2026 Fall, Winter, Championship, & Traditional League Season Awards & Prize Money available 5:59pm-7:29pm: Sponsoring Locations North of I35 at Spitfire Lounge on Tuesday May 19th;  sponsoring locations South of I35 at Kingspoint Pub Thursday May 21st; and all Springfield sponsoring locations at Backstreet Billiards Wednesday May 20th.

INCLEMENT WEATHER

Inclement weather may be the reason to postpone. No team is expected to play when multiple weather alerts have broadcast warnings declaring various conditions that are unsuitable for driving.  Shaffer does not cancel matches.  Mutual consent is not necessary for a postponement however, requesting team must contact the other captain, immediately notify the league office with the make-up date. In the past, if the majority of teams in a league do not play due to hazardus weather, we will extend the season- that decision will be determined the next day, not the day of.
